Two of the biggest hard rock bands in the world right now are heading out on the road in early 2013. Shinedown and Three Days Grace, who both landed new albums in the top 5 on the Billboard 200 this year, have announced they will be co-headlining an arena tour starting February 1 in Moline, IL.
“Shinedown prides itself on always taking our live shows to the next level and giving our fans everything they want — honest, emotional, and incendiary performances,” frontman Brent Smith says in a statement. “This tour is no exception. In fact, we’re raising the bar.”
Three Days Grace (right) say they “can’t wait to get back out on the road to play live for our fans; that’s the best part of doing what we do.”
It’s been a good ’12 for both bands. In October, Three Days Grace released their fourth studio album, “Transit of Venus,” which arrived at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the Rock Albums.
In April, Shinedown had its best week ever when their fourth studio set, “Amaryllis,” made a No. 4 arrival on the album chart, selling 106,000. Their previous high came in 2008, when “The Sound of Madness” debuted and peaked at No. 8 with 50,000.
Joining both bands on the tour is nu metal band P.O.D., who are celebrating their 20th year.
